Customer Service Representative
Seatown Sweets is excited to advertise for the position of Customer Service Representative. Seatown Sweets is a small, independently run bakery specializing in sugar cookies, cakes, cake pops, mini desserts and other sweet treats. If you are new to the food industry or want to learn more about bakery operations, this is the perfect starting position.
While this is predominantly a front-of-house position, our new team member will be involved in all aspects of the bakery operations. You will learn all about baking processes for our various treats, preparation and inventory, as well as assisting the Head Baker, Cake Decorator or Bakery Assistant in various baking tasks. This position will assist in cleaning, opening and closing our small shop.
In the role you will also learn a lot about exceptional customer service and retail support, including online platforms and delivery services.
The role we are trying to fill has a varied schedule but we will work with you to keep your shifts consistent week-to-week.

- While no formal education or work experience is required, previous experience as a Baker or in another operational support role at a bakery, restaurant, or foodservice environment is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Assisting in opening or closing the kitchen and shop;
- Keep displays and backstock fully stocked;
- Keep shop clean and organized;
- Re-stock ingredients when needed;
- Assist in opening or closing the store;
- Customer service including greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions, making suggestions, and packaging orders for all walk-in customers;
- Accept and prepare customer online orders (Door Dash, UberEats);
- Package pre-orders and have ready for customer pick up/delivery times;
- Keep food display freshly stocked and clean;
- Janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dishwashing and other light cleaning tasks.
- Light Baking and prep work such as making cake pops, dipped Oreos and pretzels, prepping buttercreams, finishing/garnishing baked goods.
- Keep packaging materials fully stocked, prepped, and organized.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB NEEDS;
- Most of the time is spent moving about frequently. There may be a need to occasionally undertake additional movements, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Applicants must have the ability to lift 50lb and stand for extended periods of time.
TIME COMMITMENT & COMPENSATION
· Full time 25-35 hours per week. Must be available to start at 9am to 6pm Monday - Friday. Shifts times may vary depending on the day of the week and orders received.
· Starting wage: minimum wage plus tips, negotiable with proven experience and professionalism.
· Employee discount 25% plus snacks available during shift.
