Responsibilities Include:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Competencies
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Ability to fabricate assemblies using machining and welding techniques.
- Ability to program, install, troubleshoot, repair and modify machinery.
- Ability to use critical thinking and trouble shooting skills to solve problems.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints, and wire schematics.
- Basic knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge and training in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Effectively communicate using written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently while using good judgment.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in heat, humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials or equipment. May be requested to work overtime as production needs require.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift up to 125 lbs
Required Education, Experience, Licenses
- Minimum 2-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or 3-5 years of previous Industrial Maintenance experience in lieu of technical degree.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout.
- Have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience and knowledge of 110/220/480.
- Understanding of how to properly run conduit.
- Ability to use voltage & OMS meters.
- Ability to determine wire size demands.
