What are the responsibilities and job description for the HISTORY TEACHER - UPPER SCHOOL position at Seattle Academy (SAAS)?

We invite you to join our team in making this mission a reality for our students as a full-time faculty member teaching Upper School History for the 2025-2026 school year.
Applicants should be flexible in their ability to teach five sections of Upper School History, including a combination of 9th through 12th grade classes. The 9th grade curriculum focuses on ancient world history, including early humans and the rise of major world civilizations. It is followed in 10th grade by modern world history, which covers the 1400s to the present, including political and economic themes. The 11th grade year offers both standard and honors US history, and lastly, the 12th grade courses are a range of teacher-driven topical options. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience. Undergraduate degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

- Ability to work effectively with all constituent groups, including teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams.
- Experience with addressing student behavior; and
- Creative and imaginative problem-solver.
