Seattle Athletic Club PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER: Effective immediately, the Seattle Athletic Club Downtown will be accepting applications for the position of Personal Fitness Trainer.
Requirements:
- A certification from: NASM, NSCA, ACSM
- Minimum of 2 years experience working within the industry as a trainer
- Ability to work full time (30 hours/week)
- Immediate need for an evening trainer; near future need for a morning trainer
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Our Personal Fitness Trainers are asked to help create a safe and welcoming environment for our members and employees; while being a resource for our members and employees as they work on their health/wellness program.
TRAINER/CLUB PARTNERSHIP: At our Club, the trainers that are more successful tend to be those who are more “we” instead of “me” and those in search of a community to grow with. We believe in our staff and look to hire those who possess a desire and drive to help improve peoples' lives, in whatever capacity that may be. We compensate our trainers with some of the best commission rates in the industry; because we believe in providing fair compensation without having to sell packages, meet quotas or sell products/supplements.
KEY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Our Club and its members view our Personal Fitness Trainers as professional resources; creating our higher expectations in communication, certifications, continuing education, completing administrative duties, participation in our Club programs/events and your engagement with employees, members & your clients.
More specifically scheduling, designing, updating and carrying out an individualized health/wellness program based on a member’s/client's abilities, needs and goals. Introduce the member/client to the appropriate equipment, teaching proper technique to ensure safe and effective utilization. Be able to collaborate with other employees & departments to create, organize, execute and evaluate programs.
MUST BE CERTIFIED BY NASM/NSCA/ACSM: or willing to get one of those certifications within 90 days of hire date, have a current CPR/AED & first aid certification. Preferable to possess undergraduate degree in health/fitness discipline. Must pass a WA State Patrol Background check.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE TRAINING CLIENTS: we expect a minimum of 6 months experience training multiple clients. We want our new hires to be successful, you need experience training many different ages, body types, medical conditions, structural issues, motivation levels and personalities.

Pay: $40.00 - $85.00 per hour
