Position Summary Position open until filled / First Review of materials will begin: October 10th/2024 Hourly rate for this position: $24.13/hr - $31.16/hr (Depending on experience). Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas. Under the supervision of the Director of Safety and Security, the Campus Safety and Security Officer will Perform general duty security work to protect life and property; enforce laws and ordinances, and prevent and investigate crime; respond and focus on emergency preparedness efforts. This position is a part-time temporary position. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE. As such, if you are selected for interview, please be prepared to hold your interview virtually. What you will be working on: Monitor various entrances for unauthorized entry. Assist with emergency evacuations. Provide campus information, and directions, to visitors. Answer Campus Security phone and provide assistance. Dispatch Campus Security Officers to requests for service. Assist with unlocking and securing various areas on campus. Receive and log lost and found property. Monitor C.C.T.V. camera equipment in order to detect irregular activity. Completes daily activity log. What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience) High school diploma or equivalent Two or more years of full-time experience working as a Campus Police officer or Campus Security Officer in a K-12 or higher education environment. Completed a campus security or state certified law enforcement training academy (reserve or full-time) OR have an Associates degree (or higher) in Criminal Justice. Possess the ability to administer first aid/CPR and become first aid/CPR certified within the first six months of employment. Emergency Medical Responder training is preferred. Currently certified in the use of OC (pepper) spray and baton (straight or side-handle). Possess a valid Washington state driver's license and be able to drive between different campus facilities Possess the ability to complete FEMA IS-100 and IS-700. Familiarity with the incident command system and the mechanics of organizing and implementing tabletop emergency management exercises. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to read and verify data and prepare various materials. Ability to exchange information on the phone or in person.
