Surgery Coordination Specialist Lead

For complex surgical events (care coordination beyond surgery scheduling requiring two or more services' expertise) will provide coordination services, beginning with patient family first contact, evaluation and continuation through and after surgical event; may include pre, post and ancillary testing such as scans, consults and coordination of such appointments; will help facilitate access to and provide continuity of care; assist families with addressing / resolving their funding concerns; assist with PCP notifications; provide appropriate interactions with provider team, staff, patients and families to assure smooth transitions throughout the surgical event stages. Provide oversight to ensure standard work for Surgery Coordination. Execute assigned projects, plans and assignments. Model and guide behavior for team members. May schedule staff and assign work. Assist with orientation, training, implementation of new initiatives, auditing, and on-going feedback to scheduling procedures under anesthesia. Serving as a lead, coordinate complete surgical encounters and provide patient family support for each experience.

Required Education / Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year's experience as a Surgery / Procedure Coordinator.
  • Minimum of 2 year's experience with progressive responsibilities in health care facility administrative support functions such as unit coordinator, operating room scheduler, patient care coordinator, family service coordinator or related roles.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a pediatric setting.
  • Experience working an academic medical setting.
  • Experience managing a culturally diverse staff.
  • Compensation Range

    28.44 - $42.66 per hour

    Salary Information

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
