Responsible for providing complex legal advice, consultation, and policy analysis and interpretation in numerous areas of law and policy, including dispute management / resolution and employment law. Functions at a level of skill, knowledge, and judgment that permits independent action, subject to oversight by the Deputy General Counsel. Manages external counsel in all phases of complex litigation (e.g., commercial & employment). Oversees discovery and other in-house aspects of litigation (e.g., litigation holds, managing witness interviews, and internal communications) in collaboration with other members of the Legal Team and external counsel. Advises on and directs employee workplace investigations and manages employer response to workforce member discrimination charges. Prepares written opinions and guidance for executive management team and key leaders. Maintains current knowledge of legal developments in relevant areas of practice, existing and proposed state and federal regulations and other matters of interest to the organization and advises management of impact and compliance strategies.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule (on-site and remote work).

Required Education and Experience

  • JD from ABA accredited law school.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience in corporate, public or private law firm setting.

Required Credentials

  • JD from ABA accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Washington (required by start date).
  • Preferred

  • Experience in a major law firm or in-house experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Experience working in a health care setting.
  • Compensation Range

    202,917.00 - $304,375.00 per year

    Salary Information

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
