Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Seattle Children's is a crucial member of our healthcare team. This role requires providing safe, family-centered patient care to critically ill children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Care Process.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.
- May be required to supervise and delegate tasks to nurse technicians, licensed practical nurses, and other staff members.
- Participate in Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Value-Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, and Workforce Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) initiatives.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Prior experience in a pediatric-related healthcare setting or a specific area of nursing may be required for specific departments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
Work Environment
The PICU at Seattle Children's has 40 beds and 8 additional expansion beds dedicated to pediatric critical care. Our team includes clinical educators and preceptors who provide support and training to ensure your success, whether you are experienced or new to pediatrics.
