North Seattle College is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic 2 in the Facilities and Plant Operations department.
Salary Range for this position is 59,724 - $67,668 annually (DOE)

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic II will be responsible for maintaining our campus infrastructure using our megamations maintenance program including but not limited to; preventive maintenance (Pm¿s) on various HVAC equipment, light remodeling projects, and work orders generated by staff and faculty including interior and exterior areas of our campus.
This position is a governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What You Will Be Working On
- Must have the skills and experience to maintain & repair various HVAC related equipment, such as replacing brushes, bearings, belts, filters, fans, motors, flame ignitors, and coil cleanings.
- Must have experience in, plumbing, electrical, lighting, drywall repair, painting, and light remodeling projects.
- Must be willing to work in confined spaces, or outside in hot/cold and inclement weather.
- Must be comfortable working above ground level using a ladder, scissor lift, boom lift
- Must be Able to read and research O&M manuals, understand blueprints & follow written instruction.
- Responsible for prioritizing work orders and completing them by writing details of the work performed and the time and materials used to complete the task safely.
- Assist our lock shop by working on door hardware such as hinges, striker plates, handles/lever sets, panic/crash bars, aligning door frames or mullions. May include issuing keys, repining cores and cutting keys if directed by supervisor.
- Assist rentals with moving various office furniture i.e.; tables, desks, file cabinets, book cases, folding tables and chairs.
- Assist with accepting deliveries and or moving freight using fork lifts, pallet jacks, flat bed or electric carts.
- Assist with any grounds needs as a second person helper but can also work independently as needed.
- Helps with snow removal using various tools such as snow shovel, snow blower, snow plow. Assist with spreading ice melt after walkways and or roads are cleared
- Participates and follows all safety related trainings/sessions with other maintenance mechanics and or Ground & nursery specialist as required per OSHA, WISHA and L&I requirements.
- Other Duties as assigned.
What You Bring As a Candidate
- Must have a current WA state drivers license.
- Must have a forklift certification or obtain within 6 months of hire..
- Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs and have the physical strength to perform the essential functions listed above
- Must be able to read and write; understand and carry out instructions.
- Must be able to work in cold or hot weather, tight or confined spaces.
- Must have two years of experience as a maintenance mechanic 1 or equivalent experience.
- Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs.
