Position Summary
Parking Attendants at the Seattle Convention Center play an essential role in our operation by providing the highest level of service to our guests during the check-in and check-out process. They will assist the Parking Department in collecting parking fees, answering questions, providing directions, event information, and other services to ensure an overall positive parking experience. The work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Assistant Parking Manager and the direction of Parking Manager.
This is an On-Call position, meaning there is no guarantee of how often work shifts may be available. Shifts are assigned based on event activity, seniority, and your own reported availability. Shifts may be scheduled any time during the day, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accurately collect parking fees in accordance with established parking programs
- According to established guidelines, ensure proper disposal of parking money/slips at the end of the shift
- Monitor vehicle ingress/egress in the parking facility to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
- Occasionally screen vehicles at the entrance to ensure only properly permitted vehicles enter and direct traffic within the garage when appropriate
- Greet guests in a polite manner. Provide clear, concise directions to the most convenient parking area, public meeting areas within the building, and areas of tourist interest
- Act upon concerns and/or complaints from guests
- Maintain a working knowledge of the facility areas and provide assistance to questions about daily event activities in the Convention Center and nearby public facilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all performing duties and respond to multiple and sometimes pressure situations in an efficient, calm manner, using sound judgment, in all situations
- Perform all assignments with attention to the safe operation of equipment and supplies, especially as it relates to the safety of self and others working within the area. Immediately report all accidents/incidents to the Parking Manager
- Properly perform all project assignments directed by management in accordance with the Quality Service Program to ensure successful compliance with the company’s standards, procedures, and established programs
- Perform all duties as a team member in a professional productive manner
- Adhere to established parking procedures as dictated by the Operations Guidelines and Procedures Manual, event documentation, and staff memos
- Perform related miscellaneous duties as directed by the Parking Manager and Assistant Parking Manager

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The part-time position works an irregular work schedule, which varies from 0 hours to 40 hours, in 7 consecutive days, per week; in which the daily shift is normally a minimum of 4 hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least one (1) year of parking attendant or customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a service or hospitality environment, preferably in a parking attendant capacity
