The position: We are looking for an Inspector Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for planning, scheduling, and coordinating various types of inspections. The role requires delivering exceptional customer service to housing providers, participants, and other stakeholders in alignment with SHA standards. Additionally, the Coordinator may conduct initial National Standards for the Physical Inspections of Real Estate as needed.

The ideal candidate has:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of college-level coursework in social services, public administration, business, or related field.
- May substitute two additional years of relevant work experience for college coursework.
- Nan McKay certification (not required but preferred).
- Valid Washington Driver’s License with a fully insurable driving record.
Certifications Required Within Six Months of Employment:
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and National Standards for Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) certification.
- Lead-Based Paint Condition Assessment certification.
What will you do?
- Coordinate and schedule inspections, ensuring timelines are met, while notifying relevant parties.
- Prepare and send scheduled communications between SHA, landlords, tenants, and property managers about inspections.
- Process and maintain daily inspection records using electronic filing systems.
- Manage files related to lead-based paint testing, clearance, and landlord non-compliance.
- Resolve conflicts among inspectors, tenants, and landlords following SHA policies and local laws.
- Document participant non-compliance or suspected fraud and assist in preparing cases for hearings.
- Terminate participants for HQS or NSPIRE non-compliance with management approval.
- Research and resolve complex inspection-related issues and conflicts.
- Lead special projects, generate reports, and improve operational efficiency and customer service.
- Attend training, enforce safety protocols, and actively participate in emergency preparedness initiatives.
