The position: We are seeking to fill a Landscaper position. Under the supervision of a Grounds Supervisor, perform a variety of duties as directed within the field of general landscaping. The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience performing general groundskeeping, or manual work involving construction or maintenance.
- Valid Washington state driver’s license
What will you do?
- Operate power equipment, such as riding and push lawn mowers, blowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, edgers, and 4 wheel all purpose vehicles.
- Performs routine landscaping such as mowing, trimming, weeding and watering grass, flowers and shrubbery. Lawn restoration: spread bark gravel, and soil.
- May maintain and repair automatic grounds sprinkler systems.
- Wash and maintain grounds equipment.
- Remove paper, trash and rubbish from facilities and grounds.
- Attend all required training and safety meetings: use, maintain and replace assigned personal protective equipment; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident accident report as required; report hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices to supervisor; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies and procedures. Monitor and enforce the agency's Safety and Health Program and actively support and participate in Emergency Preparedness tasks.
