The position: We are seeking a Solid Waste Worker, CDL. The role involves driving trucks, collecting, transporting, and disposing of refuse, recyclables, and other materials, as well as performing various duties within the field of solid waste.

The ideal candidate has:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years' experience driving commercial trucks in solid waste or related field with repetitive tasks.
- Understanding of environmental concerns regarding solid waste, hazardous waste management.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License with CDL A or B endorsement and acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain Washington State First Aid Certificate within 6 months and maintain certification.
- Forklift safety and flagging certificate within 6 months.
What will you do?
- Operate stationary compactor, refuse trucks, other commercial vehicles, and equipment.
- Follow scheduled or authorized modified routes and radio dispatch instructions.
- Use a two-way radio and cellular phone for communication.
- Remove trash, recyclables, and rubbish from grounds.
- Make reports and recommendations regarding trash removal.
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance of vehicle and packer.
- Wash and clean interior and exterior of vehicles and equipment.
- Report malfunctions and repair needs to supervisors or designated mechanics.
- Work designated holidays.
- Participate in goal setting, work plans, performance measures, and service delivery improvements.
- Attend required training and safety meetings; use and maintain personal protective equipment.
- Report injuries, illnesses, hazardous conditions, and unsafe practices; support emergency preparedness and disaster recovery efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
