The Position: We are seeking to fill a Sr. Human Resource Business Partner Liaison position. The Sr. Human Resource Business Partner Liaison will ensure the alignment of HR practices and policies with department operations, while providing strategic HR guidance and support to management, in alignment with the central HR team’s vision, goals and initiatives. The role serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to department leaders to help drive a high-performance culture through strengthening and/or developing new HR structures and programs to meet business needs and desired outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
- At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a business partner or strategic HR role.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting large departments or teams (500 employees) in a dynamic and unionized work environment.
- Proven track record of coaching and developing managers.
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization and collaborate across different levels.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR).
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into HR strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex organizational structures.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
What will you do?
1. Strategic Partnership:
- Act as a strategic thought partner to departmental leadership, understanding business priorities and translating them into actionable HR strategies.
- Provide guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent management to align with departmental goals.
- Serve as a liaison between the department and the central HR team to ensure alignment of policies, processes, and initiatives.
- Elevate themes and/or priorities that impacts the strategic plan, needs of staff, and overall workplace culture.
- Ensure HR policies and best practices are effectively integrated into day-to-day operations.
- Advise on and implement HR programs, such as recruitment and retention strategies, performance management, and employee relations
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
- Partner with department leadership to assess training needs and develop tailored programs to build management capabilities.
- Provide coaching to managers on employee engagement, performance management, and other HR-related matters.
- Support the department in building a positive work culture and enhancing leadership skills.
- Oversee the talent development process, including succession planning, and support career development, and leadership training.
- Help lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention, creating a thriving workplace environment.
- Lead and support change management initiatives to help the department adapt to evolving organizational needs.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance HR service delivery and department performance.
- Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, fostering a fair and consistent approach to conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations when necessary and offer solutions that align with both the department and organizational goals.
