JobTitle : Game Day Dispatcher

Department : Event Security

ReportsTo : Event Security Manager

Status : Seasonal,Nonexempt

PrimaryObjective :

Responsible for operating the Event Security Operations Center (ESOC) for our baseball and non-baseball events. Actingwithapositiveattitudeanddemonstrating a commitmenttoallTeamMembers. Field and resolve calls during events, working with both Management and Event Staff to maintain a fun and safe environment.Conduct operations and decision-makingin a calm manner while upholding the Mariners Way.

EssentialFunctions :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the personnel in the field, providing updates, instructions, and relaying any critical information
  • Field calls, resolve issues, and dispatch appropriate response teams (., housekeeping, security, engineering) as needed
  • Monitor, input, and dispatch incidents in real-time using the Incident Management System.
  • Dispatch Incident Response Team and Law Enforcement personnel to incidents
  • Anticipate the needs of field teams and dispatch / deploy resources accordingly
  • Communicate detailed information over phones and radios using proper etiquette
  • Keep Ballpark Operations leadership and the Managers on Duty aware and up-to-date on the status of specific incidents or activities in general during events.
  • Write comprehensive incident reports in real-time
  • Report hazards, safety concerns, and policy violations
  • Train team members in ESOC dispatch functions, preparing them to be a backup resource

EducationandExperience :

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a command center or dispatch role, preferably in Major League sports or entertainment.
  • Competencies,Knowledge,SkillsandAbilities(KSA’s) :

  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural, ethnicity, age, and other groups, enabling one to better anticipate the needs and desires of a wide range of guests.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with technology and a willingness to learn new systems; experience with 24 / 7 software is a plus.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills; plans, prioritizes and works with a sense of urgency. Acts in a manner that is fair and ethical, and always with integrity.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in every decision. Must be fair and honest in dealing with employees and customers.
  • Share and express thoughts in a clear and effective manner through verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits effective listening skills and builds positive relationships with all team members, vendors, and guests. Is diplomatic, tactful and professional in all forms of communication.

  • Physical Activities and Working Conditions(for the Essential Functions) :

  • Must be able to work afternoon, evening and night games or events, prior to opening of facility to the public and / or through closing of the facility.
  • Must have functional vision.
  • Must be able to use communication tools such as two-way radios.
  • Must have the ability to use current technology (including, but not limited to handheld devices and incident reporting software).

    The anticipated starting pay for this seasonal role is $22.44 per hour.All perks are subject to eligibility requirements and availability and may be modified or amended from time to time.
