Seattle Parks and Recreation - Specialized Programs is excited to announce that we are hiring Recreation Attendants for our youth summer programs. This summer Specialized Programs is running day camps and overnight camps for youths with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Summer Programs Will Run Weekly Monday June 30th - Friday Aug 22nd, 2025 (No Programs July 4th). Hours Vary And May Be At a Different Site Week To Week

Recreation Division
The Recreation Division eliminates barriers through responsive, exceptional recreation services. We operate over 50 recreation facilities (community centers, teen centers, pools, school-based learning centers, environmental learning centers, and boating and sailing centers) and provide opportunities for people to play, learn, and lead healthy, active lives. Our programs and events include fitness and athletics, licensed childcare and preschool, swimming and boating, youth development and job preparation, academic enrichment, and more -- including programs designed for older youths and people with disabilities, as well as grant and partnership programs designed and implemented with immigrant and refugee communities.

The full salary range for this position is $25.98 - $38.91 per hour.

- Day camps will take place Mondays through Fridays at either Ravenna Park or Seward Park - Staff shift: 9:00am-3:00pm daily
- Overnight camps will take place Tuesdays through Fridays at Camp Long - Staff shift: 12:00pm on Tuesday - 3:00pm on Friday

Job Responsibilities
- Supporting groups of youths with disabilities, including responsibility for their care and safety.
- Assisting in planning and implementing daily activities for participants, such as sports, games, nature walks, arts and crafts, classes, etc.
- Ensuring that participants' needs are being met and that they are included and enjoying themselves!
- Performing other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
- Toileting / changing diapers / cleaning up participants of all genders.
- Feeding participants unable to feed themselves.
- Assisting participants who use wheelchairs, including transfers.
- Helping participants who may have behavioral challenges.
- Experience working well with a team
- Great interpersonal skills
- Some experience working in a recreational/educational program setting
- Willingness to work evenings, overnight, and early mornings
- The ability to pass a background check
- The ability to maintain records, be creative, use good judgment in problem-solving, and have good attendance
- American Red Cross Multi-Media First Aid Card and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
