Seattle Public Schools utilizes ESA (OTs, PTs, Psychs., SLPs) Pools for various reasons related to recruitment.
- Pools provide ability to engage in recruitment of specialized prior to when specific vacancies are identified.
- Pools provide candidates the ability to create their profiles and refine their application for consideration.
- Pools will also be utilized for hard to fill recruitment throughout the year as well as for consideration related to potential Career Fair.
- Pool applicants will receive updates and email communication related to opening of site specific postings in the Spring with encouragement to apply for full consideration.

BS degree in Occupational Therapy- MS degree in OT.
Preferred: Either BS or MS in Occupational Therapy
Years of Experience:
Will take new graduates.
Preferred: Previous training and experience in Pediatrics or School District is desirable.
Certifications & Licenses:
State of Washington Occupational Therapy License
ESA certification
Continuing Education Training:
Preferred: Training etc. in School-based therapy or pediatric therapy methodology.
Clearances:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint or Background Check

Occupational Therapists (OTs) help students who have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling improve their ability to perform tasks in daily routines and environments. They have the knowledge of treatments used to restore function which has been impaired or lost and improve the students ability to perform tasks required for independent function. Specific occupational therapy services include but are not limited to: using specifically designed activities and exercises to enhance neurodevelopmental, perceptual motor, sensory processing and fine and gross motor functioning. They also help students develop, recover, or maintain daily living and school-based skills. They assist students in being able to access the educational environment. OT services are federally mandated through IDEA, governed by licensor laws, WACS- Washington Administrative Codes (State of Washington) and IDEA.
- Plans and implements treatment based upon evaluations and re-evaluations of eligible students. (40% of time)
- Evaluates, assesses and observes and writes reports about findings for students as part of the MDT evaluation for eligibility or for additional evaluation requests. (10% of time)
- Evaluates, assesses and observes and write reports for students as part of the MDT re-evaluation process.(10%)
- Writes treatment plans-IEPS-Progress notes. (10%)
- Consults with teachers, parents, other staff members and private based medical professionals. (5%)
- Communicates via e-mail or by phone with parents and private based medical professionals. (5%)
- Manages, operates and makes minor repairs and adjustment to various equipment and supplies. (10%)
- Attends IEP-evaluation, staff and other related meetings. (5%)
- Participates in education for students and provides program improvement recommendations. (2.5%)
- Performs related duties as appropriate to the assignment. (2.5%)
