YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year of coaching and/or participation in the designated sport; successful completion of WIAA Coaches Requirements; Assistants must be at least 19 years of age. Head coaches must be 21 .
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
Valid State of Washington Driver's License.
PREFERRED:
Valid Washington State Teacher's Certificate.
CONTINUING EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Valid "hands on" First Aid and CPR Certification; SPS Adult Sexual Misconduct Class.
CLEARANCES:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint

Responsibilities include coaching cheerleaders under the direction of the Head Coach including providing guidance, instruction, and experience to enhance students' personal, physical, and social growth and development. Essential Functions
- Prepares student cheerleaders mentally and physically for athletic competition.
- Enhances student cheerleaders' personal, physical, and social growth and development in a culturally diverse environment.
- Plans and supervises scheduled practices and games for various teams.
- Instruct participants on the skills and role of the cheerleaders in the sports.
- Keeps abreast of current cheerleaders' knowledge and coaching techniques in designated sports by attending clinics and reviewing related literature.
- Maintains current knowledge of WIAA and Metro/King Co League rules, regulations, and league by-laws.
- Attends games to support the teams as requested and provides support for the Activity Coordinator in the decision-making and management of cheerleaders during sports events.
- Assists the Activities coordinator in the management of District-owned equipment, maintenance of records, and other functions associated with the promotion and management of the cheerleading program.
- Attends meetings and clinics as required by the Athletic Department, including attending the League pre-season coaches meeting and annual WIAA-sponsored rule clinics as they apply to cheerlead activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

- Requires stamina and endurance; requires physical exertion associated with demonstrating techniques; required to travel between sites
