 Seattle Reign FC is a prominent professional women's soccer team competing in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Known for its dynamic play and passionate fan base, Reign FC has made a significant impact on the soccer landscape since its inception. Reign FC is committed to excellence both on and off the field, fostering a culture of inclusivity, community engagement, and social responsibility. Through various initiatives and partnerships, the club strives to inspire and empower the next generation of soccer players and fans, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of the Seattle sports community.

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Lead Designer is responsible for advancing and evolving the visual identity of Seattle Reign FC. This role leads key bodies of work, supports the day-to-day operations of the design team, reinforces creative processes, and fosters close daily collaboration with other designers and departments.

This individual is expected to bring bold, thoughtful, and culturally relevant creative ideas to life while ensuring consistency across all platforms. As a key partner to the Director of Design, the Lead Designer works cross-functionally to drive projects from concept to execution and elevate the club's storytelling through innovative design.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand Creative Development: Lead the execution of brand creative for Seattle Reign FC across all channels—digital, social, print, environmental, and merchandise.
  • Creative Leadership: Guide projects with strong visual direction, ensuring work aligns with Reign FC's visual standards and cultural identity.
  • Collaborative Execution: Partner with design peers, marketing, digital, partnerships, and matchday teams to support ongoing creative initiatives and campaigns.
  • Operational Support: Assist in managing daily creative workflows, tools, and file organization within the project management system (e.g., Wrike).
  • Process Evolution: Help develop and refine team workflows and systems that improve efficiency and collaboration across the department.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of design, sports, and culture trends to push creative boundaries and maintain brand relevance.
  • Matchday & Event Support: Support the creation and delivery of matchday creative needs and live-event coverage.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy and excellence across all assets delivered by the creative team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in a creative or design role with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility and leadership in visual storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro) preferred.
  • Experience with design systems, creative operations, and asset management tools.
  • Strong experience leading design projects, managing feedback, and collaborating across teams.
  • A portfolio that highlights exceptional design craft, concept development, and brand execution.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail; able to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments with evolving needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive design, team culture, and storytelling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • This is a hybrid position working from home and from our Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton WA and matches at Lumen Field and events and meetings in market as needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
