Position Title: Dental Clinic Site Director

Department: Dental

Wage Scale: 2025/step 0-Step 20

Reports to: Medical Director

 

 

Salary Range: $68.29 - $96.14 per hour, Exempt/Salary, payable bi-weekly. The salary scale for this position is between steps 0 and 19, depending on experience. We use the resume submitted on your application to determine your hourly wage, so please ensure that all relevant work experience is listed in your resume. 

Leadership Stipend: This position includes an annual stipend of $10,000.00, which is evenly distributed throughout the year on top of your base salary.

Seattle Roots Community Health is a not-for-profit organization operating a diverse range of healthcare services, including two primary care clinics, an After-Hours Clinic, two School-Based Health Centers, a low-barrier Medication-Assisted Treatment clinic, and a Dental Clinic.

Our Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded in 1970 by the Seattle Black Panther Party in Seattle’s Central District, and our Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by Capitol Hill residents and the Seattle Liberation Front. Both clinics were created to provide low-barrier, high-quality healthcare services and promote social justice.

Job Summary

The Dental Site Director provides leadership, oversight, and clinical direction for the dental department. Maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing patient access to dental services. The Dental Site Director will collaborate with the dental leadership team and clinical staff to improve workflows, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality dental care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedures, while adhering to best practices.
  • Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, and leadership, to establish and maintain functional clinical quality initiatives. Clinical quality includes, but is not limited to:
    • All oral disease management programs.
    • General oversight of integrated oral health programs.
    • Clinical oversight of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate patient documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA, OSHA, state dental board regulations.
  • Supervise and support dentist, dental hygienists and supports dental assistants to ensure efficient clinic workflows and high-quality care.
  • Serve as a mentor to dental providers, offering guidance on complex cases and professional development.
  • Assist in workforce planning, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluations for dental providers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as peer reviews, audits, and patient satisfaction committees.
  • Prepares and submits monthly written reports on Dental Department issues, concerns, program status, initiatives, and progress submittal to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors. Prepares specific reports as requested by the community health center’s Chief Executive Officer.
  • Promote oral health education and preventive care programs within the communities.
  • Work with external stakeholders, such as schools, public health agencies, and community organizations, to improve access to care.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Dental Operations and administrative staff to develop and implement clinic policies, procedures, and strategic and quality initiatives.
  • Represent SRCH at seminars, conferences and presentations relating to clinical quality efforts.
  • Participate in community efforts outside of SRCH as necessary when they relate to clinical quality and when they impact larger policy decisions affecting SRCH.
  • Demonstrates respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

 

Education & Training

    • Doctoral degree (DDS or DMD) from an accredited dental school
    • Active and unrestricted WA state dental license.

 

Licensure & Certification

    • Maintain current registration/licensure as a DDS (Dental Professional)
    • Active CPR License

 

Experience & Skills

    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of clinical-related experience, preferably in a community health or FQHC setting.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. 
  • Ability to write reports and documents that conform to prescribed style and format concisely and accurately. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be a strong team player, skilled in interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking principles to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Work situations are vaguely defined, often unprecedented, and unique. Issues are very complex, abstract, conceptual, and long-term in nature.  There is a continual requirement for strategic, innovative thought and synthesis of information as it pertains to work situations.
  • The Dental Clinic Site Director must be able to creatively collaborate with other health care professionals from a variety of disciplines to achieve maximal productivity and programmatic effectiveness while continuously promoting the growth and development of fellow professionals, exercising appropriate supervisory control, and displaying good work judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google products, and working on PCs
  • Ability to interact and work well with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
