About the Position
The Mechanical Designer develops, creates and maintains the SolidWorks models and drawings for use in the design, fabrication and installation of equipment around the world. The successful candidate can translate engineering concepts into high quality manufacturable designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- At the direction of design engineers, performs drawing changes and corrective re-designing when required.
- Develops CAD drawings and models of mechanical parts, assemblies, weldments, and facility/equipment layouts using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Updates drawings and models to as-built or as-installed conditions based on feedback from production, engineering, service, or install groups using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Revises models and drawings and processes documentation according to Engineering Change Notices using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Manages Release Documentation to Production and Purchasing.
- Maintains drawing files in an orderly manner on server or within SolidWorks PDM.
- Works closely with our teams of engineers, drafters, production, and installation personnel with other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in mechanical drafting or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with SolidWorks CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM preferred.
