Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team. Duties
- Safely operate a box truck for route driving, ensuring timely deliveries to various locations.
- Load and unload products using appropriate equipment, including pallet jacks, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries.
- Navigate routes efficiently, adjusting as necessary for traffic conditions or delivery requirements.
- Handle manual transmission vehicles when necessary, demonstrating proficiency in driving techniques.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring proper lifting techniques are utilized to prevent injury.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a courier role is required.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory; must have a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with route driving and logistics is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and handling heavy loads safely.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds consistently throughout the workday.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings as part of the hiring process.
