City Experiences is seeking a Chief Radio Electronics Technician for our Seaward Services operation.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

Operate and maintain Commercial Satellite Systems. Operate and maintain DOD encryption devices to include COMSEC Management systems and procedures and drafting of Naval Messages.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with COMSEC procedures and all safety procedures.
  • Advise on condition of equipment and may be required to work aloft or over-side.
  • Use the knowledge of electronic theory and a skill in interpreting technical information to perform equipment inspection, evaluation of performance, problem troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance, and repairs.
  • Operate and maintain other shipboard electronic systems including but not limited to Shipboard Electronic Monitoring and Management Systems and Shipboard Navigational Systems.
  • Maintain compliance with USCG physical standards.
  • Be able to acquire and maintain Secret Clearance.
  • Participate in Seaward Services, Inc. (SSI), Military Sealift Command (MSC), Safety, Seamanship and other training or meetings as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • MMC, EO rating
  • STCW VI/1, VI/6 VPDSD, (EO rating)
  • CROL license
  • GMDSS Maintainer
  • EKMO
  • MSC-NGW Class
  • PLC Experience
  • MSC-EKMS
  • MSC-LAN
  • MSC-PLC
  • Trusted Agent Certificate preferred.
  • A valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Have and maintain a valid U.S. Passport
  • Minimum of two (2) years of service as Chief Radio Electronics Technician abord US Government or Commercial Ships; or
  • Minimum of three (3) years employment experience performing trouble shooting and repair of Electronic and Electrical Circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, LAN Management Systems, Communications Systems, Navigational Systems, and Electronic Component Diagnostics; or
  • A combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of ship electronic systems as stated.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute innovative solutions to engineering
  • Demonstrate appropriate management and administrative skills
  • Utilize proven training and mentoring
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all-pertinent regulations
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work
  • Demonstrate well-developed inter-personal skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and be able to make progress on multiple assignments under time
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • The EO shall be able to document technical competency in all shipboard electronic system fault diagnostics and maintenance through:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of service as Chief Radio Electronics Technician or EO aboard US Government or Commercial ships; or minimum of three (3) years employment experience performing trouble shooting and repair of Electronic and Electrical Circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, LAN Management Systems, Communications Systems, Navigation Systems, and Electronic Component Diagnostics; or
  • A combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of ship electronic systems as stated.
  • Maintain compliance with USCG physical
  • Ability to stand and walk on nearly a constant basis; ability to work long hours each
  • Ability to bend, rotate and reach
  • Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 50 pounds
  • Ascending/descending stairs or ladders
  • Ability to manipulate/handle/grip materials required to perform duties
  • Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel
  • Must be able to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties associated with job.

Salary:  $643.51 / day
