What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coalition Coordinator position at Seaway Valley Prevention Council?
The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks an organized and highly motivated individual to serve as the Coalition Coordinator for a St. Lawrence County coalition.
The Coalition Coordinator will work as a collaborative player to effectively lead community members and local decision-makers to make a positive impact in St. Lawrence County. Through creative and structured education, policy change, mobilization, and capacity building, the Coalition will work to reduce youth alcohol, electronic cigarette, tobacco, and marijuana use.
Duties include facilitating outreach opportunities in the community, planning large-scale community events, facilitating educational presentations, and leading group meetings. The position is also responsible for meeting grant deliverables, completing data reports, and attending required meetings.
Successful applicants must have strong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, and have the ability to creatively plan. A working background knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework and environmental change strategies preferred.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field and experience working with community partners and programs. Experience with project management preferred.
The position requires regular local travel and occasional distant travel. The candidate must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. Some nights and weekends are required for community events and training.
