What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educator, Associate (Sleepovers) position at SeaWorld Orlando?
Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job
Facilitate educational sleepover programs for student groups from Pre-K through 12th Grade
Ensure safety of participants for entire duration of sleepovers
Organize, inventory, and prepare materials for education programs
Support Summer Day Camp programs by facilitating camps and carrying out operational logistics as needed
Staff exhibit positions to ensure safety of guests throughout the park, while conducting informative and engaging microphone presentations as needed
This position has cash handling & responsible vending duties
Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
At least 18 years old
High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
Demonstrate high quality guest service skills
Valid state driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance
Able to meet company driving guidelines
Able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements to include, but not limited to, passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
Available to work overnight up to three nights a week for sleepover programs; Ambassador will not be scheduled more than 3 sleepovers within a work week
6 months previous experience working with children preferred
Able to follow all park and departmental policies and procedures
Willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines, safety, and employment standards.
What else is important:
Able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
Position engages in extensive walking and standing and climb/ascend heights. Climb ladders up to 6' and ascend stairways and reach above shoulders.
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, bending, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
Will perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid, closing shifts and holidays.
