What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Costume Support position at SeaWorld Orlando?
What you get to do:
- Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows
- Create venue documents
- Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based off cast schedules
- Perform light sewing repairs
- Hand and machine wash a large volume of costumes daily
- Perform daily venue procedures including cleaning, organization and inventory
- In some cases, perform stagehand duties during shows
- Receive, sort, and put away laundry/costumes
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork
What it takes to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- Previous theater/costuming experience
- Multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment
- Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts
- A valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain a company driver’s license
What else is important:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
- Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
- Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may start as early as 6 AM or end as late as 4 AM.
- Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
