What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entertainment Specialist (Creative Productions), Part-Time, SeaWorld San Diego position at SeaWorld San Diego?
What you get to do:
As an Entertainment Specialist (Creative Production) you’ll enthusiastically represent SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. Produce all SeaWorld Shows, Consumer Events, and One-Off Events on budget and on time.
- Budget Tracking/ Reconciling. Manages Capital and Expense budgets for assigned product as well as Expense reports for credit card purchases. Execute pre and post show duties as outlined in the daily schedule.
- Defines SOW, sources vendors, project bids, requisition PO's
- Responsible for overall creative including, script writing, show/event direction, auditions/ casting, cue sheets, script management, choreography, DNA steward, overall design (Scenic, Sign, Costume, Music, Media etc.)
- Responsible for all long-term production timelines and daily rehearsal and operation plans
- Creates and communicate Install and Strike plan working closely with service teams
- Contract Management including:Talent, Design, and Service
- Responsible for park and department communication. Creates agendas and moderates weekly park wide consumer event meetings
- Work closely with groups sales for single day Marketing. Create onsite and offsite media presentations. Produce Talent within event.
- Work closely with PR to produce Media Events, Social content, Radio Remotes, within Install and run of Production. Organizes Talent and Services to fit needs of media
- SeaWorld Production Spokesperson
- Ensures Event/ Show quality throughout run, with park walks, regular check-ins with operations and by watching guest satisfaction and Production ratings
- Writes and communicates weekly coordinator schedule to match event, show, individual request needs. Inputs schedule for Production Team and coordinators into TMM
- SME onboarding, orientation, communication with contractors
- Supports Celebrating the SeaWorld Style audit program and park grooming guidelines
- Copywriter, proofing Website and PR tip sheets
- Responsible for attraction overlays (Manta) and retheming projects (JTA) as needed
- Responsible for in park voiceovers for all park Production and Ride needs. Can also serve as VO talent
- Models company trainings related to guest interactions and animal areas
- Occasionally may assist other locations and areas throughout the park as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- 4 year degree in Productions/Event related field preferred
- Previous experience in Production preferred
- Leadership Experience Preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Possess a proficient knowledge of the use of computers and professional programs including Microsoft office and excel.
What else is important:
- Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
- Maintains a friendly, respectful attitude with coworkers and guests. Able to adapt to multiple communication styles and personalities.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
- Openly accepts performance critique and feedback and adapts accordingly.
- Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
- Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
- Ability to maintain a SeaWorld driver’s license and operate a company vehicle preferred
- Valid California driver's license preferred. Visiting students and military must have valid driver's license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report.
Compensation: 22.75 USD Hourly
