The Tenant Collections Specialist will be responsible for maintaining positive tenant relationships, ensuring timely rent payments, and representing the company's interests in tenant-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tenant relations, collections, and legal procedures, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to collect outstanding rent, security deposits, and other related payments from tenants.
- Manage and resolve tenant disputes and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Represent the company in small claims court, mediations, and agreements concerning tenant-landlord disputes.
- Support the General Counsel with tenant-related legal matters and other projects as needed.
- Meet regularly with the General Counsel to discuss ongoing cases and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in tenant collections, property management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant laws and small claims court procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
