Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in a military recycling processing and storage environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for forklift operation up to 10K and cargo trucks up to 10 tons to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of qualified recycling within the facility.
Duties
- Operate forklift to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Unload material from delivery trucks using forklifts up to 10K and other material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Operate a 10-ton vehicle for emptying recycling containers at collection points and empty collection points on a routine basis.
- Prepare recyclable materials according to processor specifics, store materials, and take them to processors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with monitoring and record keeping for the recycling program.
- Operate recycling equipment such as glass and can crushers.
- Use various power tools such as grinders, saws and others to prepare recyclables.
Requirements
- 1 or more years experience as a Forklift Operator within a warehouse or distribution center is required.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license for up to 10 ton trucks, forklift license and OSHA certificate. Please provide these documents with your application.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage own time well and commitment to safety protocols are essential.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
