What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Leader, Technical Cleaning position at Secant Group, LLC?
What we're looking for:
The Lead Technical Cleaner position leads and prioritizes custodial activities within their assigned building. Performs a variety of custodial and cleaning duties in accordance with ISO 13485 Quality Standards for production of medical components. Building leads clean, disinfect, and maintain the cleanliness of Secant Group’s ISO 7/8, Controlled Non-Classified (CNC), and General Access (GA) cleanroom areas. In addition, cleaning and maintaining office areas, conference rooms, and common areas while maintaining additional day-to-day responsibilities and assisting other cleaners.
What you’ll do:
- Leads day-to-day cleaning activities within assigned building. Ensures scheduled work is completed on time and confirms all building technical cleaners have the necessary supplies to complete assigned tasks.
- Collaborates with supervisors to create monthly cleanroom cleaning schedules to effectively clean all areas. May generate monthly log sheets, as required. Monthly schedules may change based on employee PTO and maintenance activities. Ensures all cleaning changes are documented on monthly log sheets.
- Ensures Cintas garments/mops are ready for pickup on appropriate days and all incoming items are restocked, if necessary.
- Assists Supervisor(s) with supply orders (including items with Raw Material Specifications) for assigned building with Procurement, if necessary.
- Reviews Log sheets. Performs daily on-the-floor monthly log checks for GDP and completion. Notifies supervisor(s) of any discrepancies that cannot be easily corrected or deviate from procedure.
- Helps maintain inventory levels with Supervisor(s) using ERP system.
- Coordinates inventory requirements with Supervisor, Procurement, and/or Warehouse personnel and submits order and transfer requests (via Email, Kanban cards, and/or transfer slips) for supplies. Tracks supplies and initiates inventory transfer request for supplies prior to running out of supplies.
- Completes assigned PMs/Work Orders.
- Provides training to new or cross-training technical cleaners in all job responsibilities. Reports progress to Supervisor(s).
- Clean and maintain Secant Group facilities according to assigned schedule, rotation, and location. Tasks include:
- Cleaning ceilings, walls, and/or floors in ISO 7/8, Controlled Non-Classified (CNC), and General Access (GA) cleanroom areas using approved cleaning agents.
- Sweeping, moping, and vacuuming a variety of floor types.
- Detecting stains and using approved chemicals for removal, per standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, gowning areas, lounges, corridors, stairways.
- Cleaning, polishing, and dusting facility (furniture, equipment, work areas, etc.).
- Cleaning lobby windows, glass doors and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees to ensure they are clean and smudge free.
- Emptying wastebaskets, removing trash and recycling to disposal area, in accordance with established procedures.
- Striping, waxing and buffing floors and carpet cleaning as necessary according to company procedures.
- Follows Good Document Practices (GDP) when filling out Cleaning Records. Ensures all assigned tasks are completed and documented.
- Checks supplies in cleanroom gowning/supply areas, lunchrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, and common areas daily and replenishes all areas with appropriate paper, soap, gowning and sanitizing supplies daily.
- Responds to emergency calls and service requests for custodial assistance, such as spills and clean up.
- Submits maintenance work orders and Notice of Hazards (NOHs), as needed. ensure efficient and safe operations are maintained.
- Works with other technical cleaners to ensure all daily tasked are completed if/when all individual assigned tasks are completed.
- Proactively notifies management concerning the need for minor and major repairs.
- Works with employees to resolve problems and ensure efficient and safe operations are maintained.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Follows all applicable safety guidelines including but not limited to: Work Instructions/SOPs, Lock-Out/Tag Out procedures, Safe Chemical Handling, and Secant Group HSE Policies (Lone Worker, Personal Protective Equipment, Spill response, etc.)
- Occasionally moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Who you are:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-5 years prior experience in a related industry or cleaning a regulated cleanroom environment preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a lead/high level cleaning role preferred.
- Attention to detail is required.
- Moderate manual dexterity required.
- Operates computer equipment to check email, access procedures, and perform training.
- Occasional exposure to noisy environment where hearing protection must be worn.
- Requires use of personal vehicle to drive between company buildings.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed (non-exempt).
- Receives instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments
- Interacts with all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on experience with facility cleaning preferred (Cleanroom cleaning, floor scrubbers, Carpet Cleaning, and Striping/Waxing/Buffing Tile floors).
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and SOPs.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks (e.g., Cleanroom and office cleaning Bathrooms, Lunchrooms, trash removal, cleaning documentation, etc.)
- Ability to measure and mix chemicals according to work instructions.
