Summary:
Level I:
An entry level position who has little or no experience on a golf course requires close supervision and guidance. Performs manual tasks on the golf course, that causes the least amount of inconvenience to our golfers, including but not limited to golf cart and utility vehicle operation, backpack blowers and various hand and power tools usage, and all forms of walk-mowing, bunker raking, weed eater and fly mower operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operates equipment and other machinery related to golf course maintenance
- Cleans machinery after each use and stores properly.
- Ensures all fluid levels and operating conditions
- Reports on all machinery problems to mechanic and/or supervisor
- Loads and unloads material and equipment safely
- Collects trash on property and empties trash cans
- Edges irrigation heads, boxes and drainage
- Maintains sand bunkers
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Wears all specified personal protective equipment/gear
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED required
- A valid SC driver's license
- One year of golf course or landscaping maintenance or mechanical experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe and efficient maintenance and operation of golf course maintenance equipment including hand tools, utility carts, motorized vehicles, mowers and tractors
- May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs; kneel; step up and down stairs; twist and bend; stand and walk on uneven ground continuously throughout the entire work shift
- Must be able to work extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be able to work on multiple assignments at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, and stressful situations. Must be able to stay focused and work effectively, efficiently and cheerfully under such circumstances
