Fiber Optic Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with hands-on experience in fiber splicing and field service operations. As a Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber splicing and termination of optical fibers in various environments.
• Utilize hand tools, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to conduct tests and measurements on fiber optic systems.
• Install and configure Cisco routers as part of network setups.
• Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot and resolve issues with fiber optic connections.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and adherence to safety standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding fiber optic systems.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with hand tools effectively.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and components related to fiber optics.
• Experience in telecommunication installations, including knowledge of Cisco routers.
• Ability to work independently in the field while adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
