Second Baptist Childcare is a faith-based childcare ministry committed to providing a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Our goal is to support families while planting seeds of faith through quality care.
Position Overview:
The Part-Time Floater plays a vital role in maintaining consistency and support throughout the childcare center. This individual will assist in various classrooms and age groups as needed, ensuring smooth transitions, proper coverage, and a loving, safe environment for our children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers with daily routines and supervision
- Support classrooms during teacher breaks, absences, or ratio needs
- Help prepare activities, serve meals/snacks, and clean learning areas
- Provide nurturing care aligned with Christian values
- Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children
- Follow all CACFP, state, and program policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a childcare setting preferred
- Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple age groups
- Strong communication skills and a team mindset
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- A heart for ministry and a desire to serve children and families
- Must pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
Preferred:
- Familiarity with faith-based childcare or ministry settings
- Knowledge of CACFP and Indiana childcare guidelines
