Second City Canine Rescue is looking for someone to lead and execute the organization’s marketing strategies, leveraging the talents of a volunteer marketing committee. This position requires an organized, self-starter to stay on top of ongoing marketing projects done both individually and with support from volunteers. Social media, email, direct mail and the website will be the primary marketing channels managed by the SCCR Marketing Lead, under the direction of the Development Director.

· Maintain a cohesive, clear, and positive organizational brand.

· Manage and schedule daily social media content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

· Manage and create email marketing campaigns and monthly newsletter in Constant Contact.

· Manage volunteer work and create content and campaigns to promote adoptable dogs, weekly adoption events, volunteer recruitment initiatives, fundraising events, and other mission-driven campaigns.

· Collaborate with volunteers on social media content creation and event promotions.

· Manage communication with the public including responding to messages and comments on social media, Google reviews, and moderating the SCCR volunteer Facebook group.

· Lead a monthly marketing volunteer meeting (virtual) and engage volunteers in between meetings.

· Experience leading and engaging others, especially volunteers.

· Experience in graphic design, social media marketing, WordPress, and email marketing.

· Comfort delegating tasks to volunteers and prioritizing assignments.

· Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

· Comfortable using software such as Canva, the Google suite, Constant Contact or similar, WordPress, and social media management tools such as Meta and Hootsuite.

· Provide thoughtful supervision and onboarding of volunteers, giving timely feedback, and incorporating the ideas of volunteers whenever possible.

· Detail-oriented, motivated, and able to communicate well with other departments and non-marketing volunteers.

· This position reports to the Development Director, will collaborate with the Development Director and Board of Director’s Development and Operations Committees on marketing annual planning, and will lead a group of 10 marketing volunteers.

· Working hours are flexible with some weekday availability required.

· This is currently a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week and will pay $20.00 an hour with pay periods being every other week.

· Second City Canine Rescue offers a 403(b) retirement contribution plan.

· The start date is negotiable but we are looking for someone to start in Jan 2025.
