Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Assistant Director to join our team at an Adult Day Center dedicated to serving individuals with physical, intellectual, and mental disabilities. The Assistant Director will oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring that each individual receives the highest quality of care and support in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Assist the Director in managing day-to-day operations of the center, ensuring that all services and activities are conducted effectively and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervision & Training: Supervise a team of staff members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest level of care for individuals in the program.
- Client Support: Work directly with individuals with disabilities to support their personal, physical, and emotional well-being. Ensure that care plans are followed and adapted as needed to meet each individual’s unique needs.
- Care Coordination: Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring goals are being met and that clients are participating in meaningful activities.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other community organizations to ensure holistic care and support for individuals.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that the center operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both clients and staff.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and activities. Prepare reports for the Director, families, and regulatory agencies as necessary.
- Program Development: Assist in developing new programs and activities designed to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities, ensuring diversity and inclusivity in offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with disabilities (physical, intellectual, or mental). Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a team, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems creatively. Compassionate and patient with the ability to work with individuals of all abilities.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but can be obtained upon hiring.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, assist, or move individuals as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
