Senior Accountant
Description of duties:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's financial reporting, month-end close, accounts payable and receivable, and budgeting and forecasting. This role will support the Controller and CFO in ensuring that the company’s finances are efficiently run, data is more accurate, and forecasting/budgeting is optimized. This position may also engage with Senior Leadership Team and other department team members, as necessary.
- Supports the CFO and Controller in managing company finances.
- Assist in the creation of a strategic financial plan, including methods to increase revenue and reduce costs.
- Assess financial risks and work to minimize them.
- Create financial outlook reports and ensure company funds are sufficient.
- Engage with external partners to prepare and submit taxation and tax reporting information.
- Help oversee all fiscal reporting within the company.
- Assists in accounting functions such as A/P, A/R, treasury/cash management, as necessary
- Assist with month-end financial close process
- Assist in team members’ financial understanding and provide guidance to help them navigate financial processes and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrate strong financial modeling skills and a comprehensive understanding of revenue cycles and economic drivers, translating complex financial concepts into simple terms for all stakeholders.
- Exhibit a leadership style characterized by direct communication and transparency, while remaining humble and open to admitting mistakes.
- Apply strategic thinking to corporate development initiatives, identifying opportunities to start, integrate, or divest businesses to maximize return on investment.
- Simplify complex information, projects, and definitions, de-complicating processes and ensuring clarity for all involved parties.
- Possess a strong background in math, finance, annual operating plans (AOP), budgets, forecasting, and effectively communicate these concepts to diverse audiences.
- Report to and work with the Controller on all financial matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
Skills & Abilities:
- A proven record of accomplishment (at least 6 years) of excellence in an accounting role demonstrating expertise in a wide range of areas and departments.
- Ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for thinking outside the box.
- Extensive experience in financial modeling, revenue cycles, and economic drivers, coupled with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
- A leadership style characterized by direct and transparent communication, humility, and a willingness to admit mistakes.
- Proficiency in corporate development strategies, with a focus on maximizing ROI.
- The ability to simplify information and projects.
- Strong mathematical and financial acumen, with the ability to communicate these concepts effectively.
- Experience with MS Office365– must be proficient with technology, learn systems quickly and understand various software systems.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
