We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands 4x from $300MM to $1 B in the next 4 years through a combination of organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation) and through M&A. We have an opening for a Production Supervisor for our Roasting and Blending room operations.
As the Production Supervisor for the Roasting and Blending rooms at Kar's Nuts in Madison Heights, MI, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision, training, and guidance to hourly manufacturing employees, ensuring the safe operation of daily activities while meeting established production schedules, communicating production goals and objectives to achieve results and maintains a high standard of product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies in support of continuous improvement.
This is an on-site position. Monday-Friday (weekends as needed) 10pm-7am typical schedule.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead and train manufacturing employees, ensuring safe operations, and meeting roasting and blending schedules.
- Prepared to work 3rd shift hours from 10pm-7am; Monday-Friday w/weekends as needed
- Optimize productivity by ensuring proper inventory & sustainability standards are followed
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality policies.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful team environment, promoting employee engagement.
- Resolve issues and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Build strong customer and supplier relationships across all levels of the organization.
Required qualification include:
- High School Education or equivalent.
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience driving a Hi-Lo and/or Forklift
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Strong reasoning and decision-making skills for the Processing floor
- Food manufacturing experience, preferred
- Knowledge of FDA and OSHA requirements is a plus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high and employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment. This is an indoor food manufacturing setting.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, drive a hi-lo or forklift, and use your hands to control computerized equipment and machinery.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
