Job Overview
This is the entry level position in the Judicial Clerk series in which incumbents must possess basic skills. This position is characterized by the responsibility to perform clerical tasks and to learn and apply basic knowledge of departmental, work unit and program procedures, services and methods. Employees in this class normally work under close and continuous supervision performing repetitive duties according to established procedures. Generally, work is observed and reviewed both during its performance and upon completion, and changes in procedure or exceptions to rules are explained in detail.
Duties
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. - Provides customer service; greets and assists clients/walk-ins; responds to questions and complaints; provides information.
- Answers all incoming calls; forwards to appropriate staff or department.
- Performs data entry pertaining to parking tickets, traffic citations, payments and fees; proofreads and prints daily transmittal list
- Processes traffic citations and payments; prices tickets in accordance with the fine schedules mandated by the Court; tracks insurance proof for accidents; processes records associated with voluntary payments, both at the counter and through the mail; verifies zip codes on tickets; prepares and mails correspondence related to Act 301 citations.
- Sorts and distributes mail; obtains dockets for Court; files; creates and maintains files; distributes faxes; copies documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bilingual (Spanish/Vietnamese)
- Skill in operating a variety of modern office equipment in processing information to prescribed formats, i.e., copy machines, database systems, and Outlook.
- Skill in keyboard/data entry functions.
- Skill in written and oral communications for effective expression and clarity. Skill in communicating effectively over telephone, email, and other methods. Ability to understand simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to sort and file alphabetically and numerically. Ability to read Standard English.
- Ability to serve the public with patience, tact, and integrity.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and fellow employees.
- Ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations
Requirements
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months previous related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be bilingual.

Pay: From $15.19 per hour
