Job Title: Client Care Advocate
Reports to: Executive Director
Pay: $18.00 an hour allowed expenses
Hours: Part-time 15-25 hours a week
This position is a combination of field and office work. It will require a flexible schedule that may includes days, nights, weekends and occasional local travel (no overnights) depending on the clients' schedules.
POSITION SUMMARY
Client Care Advocates work as part of a team to provide direct service and case management to the young people who have aged out of foster care and their mentors.
This position has the potential for advancement if all parties are in agreement and funding is present.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intake and assessment services for clients referred for services.
- Creates an action plan with benchmarks for each client/resident
- Oversees progress of client.
- Provides case management services for clients.
- Provides continuing support to the Mentors to help ensure success in the matches made with young adults.
- Attend scheduled weekly check-ins with supervisor.
- Acts as liaison for clients with other service providers.
- Attend agency and other program meetings as appropriate.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers and management and deal effectively and professionally under pressure.
- Work with outside and partnering agencies to ensure quality of care for youth.
- Other duties may be assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelors or master’s degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Social Work, Psychology, Human/Family Studies, or a similar discipline.
- Experience in or working with Child Welfare, Foster Care, Youth Development, Residential Care or transitional housing programs highly desired.
- Must be punctual, efficient, and organized, effective, and professional under pressure.
- Ability to balance excellent client care with meeting deadlines and ensuring positive program goals and outcomes.
- Ability to self start and follow through on time sensitive tasks.
- Experience providing services to clients of various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic backgrounds or sexual and/or gender identity who are overrepresented in homeless populations as well as working in different cultural environments.
- An understanding of humility and respect for working with homeless youth and families.
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills - must be personable and informative when presenting Second Shift programs and services.
- Must be consistent and timely with required documentation.
- Computer knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office Suite
