Second Use Building Materials, Seattle’s largest architectural salvage yard, is seeking a full time staff member to work in our retail store as a Cashier and Customer Service Specialist. This position is scheduled for 4 10 hr shifts, including weekend days.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Customer Service/Cashier Team specializes in providing excellent assistance to our customers and top tier support to the rest of our store team. This position is a good fit for those who enjoy and excel at self directed work, are up to the task of creatively merchandising ever changing inventory, and have great attention to detail.
Typical work functions:
-Provide friendly and professional service to customers and suppliers
-Accurate and consistent operation of our POS system, cash registers and database
-Visually Merchandising an array of eclectic reclaimed items in a creative and shoppable manner
-Communicate with and assist other store team members in a friendly and efficient manner
-Maintain work areas in safe and clean condition
-Possible Crossover work in other parts of the business, such as receiving, warehouse and yard, to help with overall business needs
An ideal candidate will have these qualifications:
-An interest in architectural salvage and cool old stuff
-Self-motivated and reliable worker
-Experience operating a cash register and POS interface
-Experience with visual merchandising in a unique retail environment
-Enthusiasm for a safe & tidy work environment
-Able/willing to put in a full day at 100%
-Able/willing to safely lift 50 lbs throughout the day
-Some knowledge of building materials and pricing preferred
-Experience with team collaboration
-Weekend availability
