Second Use Building Materials, Seattles largest architectural salvage yard, is seeking a full time staff member to work in our Receiving Department as a Salvaged Material Buyer/Receiver. This position is scheduled for 4 10 hr shifts. Weekend work required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Receiving Department specializes in taking in materials from the general public and our in-house salvage services team, and preparing them for sale in our retail warehouse.
Typical Receiving work functions:
-Negotiate purchase/donation/acquisition of quality reusable building materials from the public
-Unload incoming material and prepare for sale in retail store
-Research and price incoming materials
-Photograph materials for website
-Independent work in a team environment
An ideal candidate will have these attributes:
-A self-motivated and reliable worker
-Enthusiasm for a safe work environment
-Must be able to lift 75 lbs throughout the day
-Ability to work comfortably with computer systems
-Attentiveness to demands of a fast paced environment that shifts priorities quickly
-Can navigate a wide variety of personalities and remain friendly and outgoing
-Observant, curious and communicative
-Weekend availability
These qualifications are also useful in this position:
-Familiarity & experience with common building materials
-Experience moving heavy materials solo and with a team
-Ability to accurately measure dimensions and calculate quantities
-Experience working with common hand/power tools
-Experience buying/selling secondhand goods
