What are the responsibilities and job description for the PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN I position at Secretary of State?
The incumbent is required to have the ability to research laws, regulations, policy manuals and bargaining unit contracts and provide technical guidance to all staff. The incumbent will be expected to follow instructions and work under pressure to meet deadlines, consult with internal partners; prepare correspondence and develop general procedures, exercise a high degree of initiative, independence of action and demonstrate tact and good judgment; communicate procedures and HRB guidelines effectively, maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff; demonstrate independent responsibility for decisions and actions having broad implications on various aspects of personnel management. Maintain regular, consistent and predictable attendance.

- Experience communicating with all levels of an organization.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize as needed.
- Ability to research and make logical decisions based upon the relevant information.
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
