Position Overview
As VP of IT App Dev & Support, you provide IT Management/Leadership to support SECU’s mission and values. Develop and support the delivery of SECU products and services to meet the needs of the business and membership. Provides enforcement for all approved policies and standards. Provide Management support and leadership in development, delivery, and support of enterprise solutions in contribution toward SECU's mission and values. Maintain department goals in alignment with overall IT and Application Development objectives. Establish roadmap for the department working closely with Senior IT Leadership and numerous Business lines, IT departments, third party vendors. Partner with key business leaders and stakeholders to insure projects are prioritized appropriately and set for successful delivery. Help build next generation workforce to cater to Business & IT needs focusing on Reskilling/Upskilling. Balance Innovation vs. Operational Excellence.
Responsibilities
20% Delivery – Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics to identify areas of opportunity. Leverage industry proven frameworks to deliver continuous improvement and support enterprise priorities.
20% Roadmapping – Develop and partner with key business lines/stakeholders and IT resources to develop joint application/solution roadmaps.
15% Innovation – Promote and develop a culture which embraces technology innovation. Staying up to date on current trends and emerging technology solutions. Provide training opportunities for leadership and staff to ensure teams are prepared for the future. Support the modernization of technologies and solutions.
15% Relationships – Partner with leaders across the organization in development and delivery of the committed roadmap aligning to the strategy. Maintain a large focus on organization change management/readiness, including effective challenge to legacy processes and practices.
10% Vendor Management – Build and maintain strong vendor relationship with current and potential engagements. Ensure team is effectively managing key relationships. Hold vendors accountable to defined SLA and contractual commitments, while maintaining professional working relationship. Responsible for financial management of vendor engagements and recurring cost.
20% Management/Coaching – Provide direct people management, coaching, and mentorship to members of the team. Ensure associates receive proper training, development opportunities, and effective and timely feedback. Invest on their Reskilling/Upskilling aligning to organizational needs and employee skills & strengths.
Supervision
Direct Reports: Engineers, Analysts, Technical Product Managers
Indirect Reports: Business Systems Analyst, Program Manager, Enterprise Architects
External and Vendor Relationships: Vendor/Partners that we manage
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelors; Acceptable Fields of Study: Relevant Technical Field of Study
Required Relevant Experience: 5-8 years
Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 10 years leading within Application Development and Technology teams, preferably within Financial Industry

- IT Management experience working with multiple Business & IT departments
- Fluent in technology solutions, with a preference for experience within large scale financial institutions
- Ability to see the big picture with End-to-End Architecture and Enterprise Integrations
- Experience in design, development and built out of solutions/integrations
- Strong vendor relationship skills and adept at program governance
- Ability to communicate and influence at team and executive level.
- Ability to lead a technology team that uses an agile development process and structure to ensure high quality, timely delivery of features and innovative enhancements in conjunction with other teams
