What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at SECURA?
Serve as Senior Project Manager for large, complex, and strategic enterprise-wide projects at SECURA Insurance. Requires excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills with expertise in SCRUM / Agile and traditional project management principles, and the ability to integrate them for complex projects and business environments.
Responsibilities :
- Lead large, complex, and strategic projects utilizing SCRUM / Agile and traditional practices to successfully implement key strategic initiatives with Executive Team sponsorship
- Create, track, and manage complex project plans with tasks that lead to successful delivery of business benefits
- Maintain project financial responsibilities (budgeting, reporting on actuals, and forecasting)
- Manage issues and risks using appropriate escalation when necessary
- Provide thought leadership and suggest alternatives to business issues to ensure continuous alignment to strategic objectives
- Proactively manage changes in project scope and explain the impact to the project
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Utilize departmental processes and tools to track project tasks and deliverables
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills and experience when interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level on project status and role expectations
- Provide updates directly to senior leadership and key stakeholder audiences
- Establish trusting and credible relationships with business partners and assigned project team members including vendor engagement
- Participate in PMO process improvement initiatives and suggest additional improvement opportunities
- Serve as scrum master when required including facilitating SCRUM events, eliminating team impediments, encouraging collaboration, supporting product owner and tracking progress
- Coach and mentor project team members as needed or required
- Other duties as assigned
