POSITION SUMMARY

The Assembler 1 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and minimum testing of various electrical / electronic equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use electric soldering equipment to the IPC-A-610B, Class 3 standard
  • Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, Apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and / or limited supervision
  • Perform a variety of complex mechanical and / or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
  • Conduct inspections of own and / or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and / or customer drawing
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 6S standards
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Additional job duties and tasks as needed
  • Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed
  • Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned and instructed by Lead Tech / Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :  Secondary Certificate / High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience

Experience :  0-2 years prior work experience in an electronics / manufacturing environment.

Skills :

  • Able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
  • Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
  • Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun
  • Lift and Carry up to 30lbs
  • Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug / alcohol screenings
  • Able to perform complex mechanical and / or electromechanical assembly operation
  • Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
  • Skilled at simple welding tasks and / or brazing, or soldering
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating / manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
  • Candidate Requirement :  Candidate must pass a hands-on assessment to be moved to the in-person interview stage of the recruitment process. Candidates unable to pass the assessment will not move forward in the process.

    Physical Requirements

  • Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing / walking about in-door Company facilities
  • Use head and neck in static position, looking up / down and side-to-side
  • Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
  • Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf
  • Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
  • Minimal : heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling, exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
