Job Title: School Security Officer
Location: Sauk Village, IL
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, plus events

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional School Security Officer to join our team in Sauk Village, IL. The School Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the school campus during regular school hours and at events. The ideal candidate will have experience in security, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the school premises, including entrances, hallways, and exterior areas, to detect any security threats or safety hazards.
• Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies as they arise, including medical situations, disturbances, or security breaches.
• Maintain access control, preventing unauthorized entry into the school building.
• Write detailed reports documenting any incidents, activities, or observations during the shift.
• Assist in maintaining crowd control during school events, maintaining safety and security for all attendees.
• Work closely with school administration and law enforcement to address security concerns.
• Patrol the school property regularly to prevent vandalism, theft, or other misconduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or school administration.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid PERC card and completion of a 20-hour security training course.
• Previous experience in security, or a similar role preferred.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or incidents.

• Variable Hours: All positions are considered variable hour roles, with weekly hours subject to change based on operational needs.
• Compensation: The hourly rates specified in this job posting apply exclusively to this position. Securatex may offer other assignments with different pay rates. All required training is compensated for at no less than the state minimum wage.

• 20-Hour Certificate: Completion of a 20-hour security training course.
• PERC Card: Ability to obtain a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
• High School Diploma: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Drug Screening and Background Check: Must pass a drug screening and background check.
• Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Physical Fitness: Physically capable of standing or walking for up to 8 hours per shift.
