Summary of School Security Supervisor (Officer-in-Charge) Job Duties

Position Overview:
The Supervisor serves as the on-site supervisory representative for Securatex at RPS schools in Rockford, IL, earning $19.00 per hour. The role involves managing daily security operations, addressing client needs, and overseeing the performance of security officers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Oversight:

   • Supervise a team of 1-10 security officers and oversee all security services at the site.
   • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and staff during the shift.

2. Staff Management & Training:

   • Schedule officers to maintain full coverage for all required posts.
   • Train staff on duties, protocols, and use of the Val-check system.
   • Conduct performance reviews and document commendations or disciplinary actions.

3. Incident Response:

   • Handle emergencies and unusual situations, notifying management when necessary.
   • Review and submit incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.

4. Compliance & Equipment Management:

   • Update and communicate any changes to post orders.
   • Manage and maintain accountability for all issued equipment, such as radios and keys.

5. Client Interaction & Professionalism:

   • Represent Securatex with professionalism in all interactions with clients, staff, and the public.
   • Collaborate with school staff to resolve concerns and maintain a safe environment.

6. Operational Support:

   • Perform the duties of a security officer as needed.
   • Compile weekly reports and relay relevant information to management.

Qualifications:

• Supervisory experience
• High school diploma or GED require
• Must be able to obtain a PERC license and 20 hour certification.
• Strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and the ability to address routine and moderately complex problems.
• Read, write, and speak English
• Good Customer Service Skills
• Computer skills (word, excel, outlook)
• Previous Security Supervisor experience
• Background (i.e. criminal, DMV, drug) screenings
• Work for any employer in the U.S.
• Physically fit to stand/walk 8 hour shifts
• Reliable transportation to work

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly to any incidents or emergencies.

Position Details:

• Variable Hours: All positions are considered variable hour roles, with weekly hours subject to change based on operational needs.   
• Compensation: The hourly rates specified in this job posting apply exclusively to this position. Securatex may offer other assignments with different pay rates. All required training is compensated for at no less than the state minimum wage.
