Job Description:  Off Duty Police Officer (LLY)

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Pay Rate: $50.00
Schedule: 630 AM - 1230 PM or 1230 PM - 6 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and professional Off Duty Police Officer to join our team in the Indianapolis area. The ideal candidate will provide security and law enforcement services for our client.  This role involves maintaining safety, deterring criminal activity and responding to incidents promptly.  This position requires individuals with a strong law enforcement background, excellent judgement and the ability to interact with the public professionally.  

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide security services as defined by post orders to assigned client site.

2. Is polite and respectful in all communications.

3. Prohibits unauthorized persons from entering client site.

4. May operate metal detectors, body scanners, and X ray machines depending on assignment.

5. Reports and records incidents such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.

6. Periodically patrols buildings and grounds of work site.

7 .Wears full police uniform from their respective law enforcement department or client requested uniform in such instances where the client would prefer a plain clothes officer.

8. Shall be armed with an approved firearm and wear a badge of distinction identifying their status as a law enforcement officer.

9. May operate a motor vehicle and must maintain a valid Indiana Driver License.

10. If regular security officers are assigned to site, will assist security staff when necessary.

11. Will execute custodial arrests when necessary to enforce criminal statutes as defined by the State of Indiana.

12. Will intervene in the case of disputes between client staff, customers, etc., when necessary.

13. Maintain proper paperwork and distribute to appropriate parties to include: patrol reports, incident reports, arrest reports, evidence control, etc.

14. Will adhere to the force continuum in all situations requiring the use of force and will only use the minimum amount of force necessary to stop aggressive and/or resistive behaviors.

15. Carries out lawful orders and requests as needed.

16. Follows all Securatex, code of conduct, and ethics policies

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Minimum 21 years of age. Must be a sworn member in good standing of a recognized Indiana law enforcement agency with full police authority.

• Previous experience as an active police or retired police officer similar role preferred.
• Ability to stay alert and focused during overnight shifts.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and professionally.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly to any incidents or emergencies.

Position Details:

• Variable Hours: All positions are considered variable hour roles, with weekly hours subject to change based on operational needs.   
• Compensation: The hourly rates specified in this job posting apply exclusively to this position. Securatex may offer other assignments with different pay rates. All required training is compensated for at no less than the state minimum wage.

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• High School Diploma: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Active police credentials
• Drug Screening and Background Check: Must pass a drug screening and background check.
• Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Physical Fitness: Physically capable of standing or walking for up to 8 hours per shift.
