Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a strong focus on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and Tableau for a long-term contract position in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data processing, visualization techniques, and will be responsible for creating insightful data reports and dashboards that drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL pipelines to efficiently extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and create data models for reporting and analysis.
- Develop interactive Tableau dashboards and visualizations to present insights and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights for business strategies.
- Optimize ETL processes for improved data efficiency, scalability, and performance.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across all data sources and outputs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to align on data needs and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data discrepancies and process inefficiencies.
- Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights to support decision-making across business units.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all ETL workflows and Tableau reports.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, ETL tools, and data visualization technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (Master s preferred).
- Proven experience working with ETL processes, preferably with tools like Talend, Informatica, or similar.
- Strong experience with Tableau for data visualization and report/dashboard creation.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets and creating optimized queries.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data wrangling, and data cleansing.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and scripting (a plus).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure (preferred).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in an onsite, contract role is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other data visualization tools (Power BI, QlikView, etc.).
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
- Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling.
Contract Details
- Location: Onsite in New York City, NY.
- Contract Duration: Long-term (12 months).
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, onsite (5 days/week).
