We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager with a strong background in the financial domain to join our team in New York City, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and deliver high-impact projects in the financial sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving complex IT projects to successful completion within a financial services environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of IT-related financial projects, including system integrations, software implementations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including business leaders, product owners, and IT teams, to define project goals, timelines, and resources.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure IT projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of IT and business objectives for project success.
- Monitor project progress through tracking systems, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring effective communication between IT teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure project deliverables meet financial regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices for IT systems.
- Manage project resources effectively, ensuring the right skills are applied and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Report project status to senior leadership, providing updates on milestones, budget adherence, and any project risks.
- Address and resolve any project-related issues, obstacles, or conflicts that may arise within IT projects.
- Oversee the integration of financial IT tools and systems, ensuring smooth implementation and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly stored.
- Support change management efforts, ensuring stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide post-project support to ensure successful system integration and smooth transitions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in IT project management within the financial services domain (e.g., banking, investment, risk management, capital markets).
- Strong knowledge of financial industry IT systems, software, and regulations.
- Project Management certification (PMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience managing complex IT projects in the financial sector.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
- Strong understanding of financial IT systems, databases, and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Bloomberg).
- Proficiency in project management software (JIRA, MS Project, Asana, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Consultant mindset: Ability to work independently and provide valuable strategic guidance to clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with financial data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies in IT project management.
- Experience with cloud-based financial IT platforms or fintech solutions.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

- Contract Type: Consultant (Long-term contract).
